Philosophy in the Park is a free public philosophy event!
Bring a picnic to Regent's Park (precise location tbc), listen to a 5-10 min talk about philosophy, then get into small groups to talk about what you've heard, prompted by discussion questions. No prior training, background or knowledge of philosophy required - just come along and flex your thinking muscles!
In this session, we'll be talking about ideas of the self in Indian and Western philosophy. Is the self a stable, continuous substance? What makes a self a self? Is there even any such thing? If you're interested in what makes you you, or if there's any such thing as a "you" in the first place, come to Regent's Park on August 18th for a chat.
