The number of people with dementia is steadily increasing in the United Kingdom. It is estimated that there are currently 850,000 people diagnosed with dementia in the UK and it is predicted an increase of 40%over the next 12 years. Whilst a diagnosis related to cognitive decline is usually made after the age of 60, the underlying processes that cause the decline start 10, 20 or even 30 years before. So, reducing your risk is something you might want to think about in your 40s and 50s.
